Kamigawa is a MTG plane that many have been hoping to return to thanks to its world of samurai, dragons and ninjas. (If you're thinking that this is technically the second set because of Innistrad: Double Feature, we’re of the opinion that Double Feature - a remix of last year’s Crimson Vow and Midnight Hunt - doesn’t technically count.) To mark the release of the latest MTG set on February 18th, we've chosen the ten best cards from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. I had 1 Whispering Wind in the deck for a while, it was useful but I ended up going for more spell based draw and haven't really missed it. If I was going for pure effectiveness you are probably right but they are just too much fun. I also wanna keep Mirror Image because it let's me proc the summon ability on some of the powerful cards I end up with after a Unstable.

Trailblazer is too much fun for me to drop, echoing a Second Sight is a gamechanger for this deck, turns into permanent card draw and spell cycle, plus it is the perfect target for Unstable and Mirror Image. Rockslide I need to try again, tried for a little bit and I think I switched it out cuz of a run against no agro decks, probably a mistake on my part. Yeah seems Permafrost is a control staple but I went Polymorph instead since it's a spell, I've thought about trying Perma but I haven't had much trouble with bigger units yet. Any help appreciated, thx!Įdit: So far gonna be adding more Torches and trading out ruin/backlash for Kaleb's Choice. And any other red cards I should be looking at? Feels weird going red just for 2 cards. I'd prefer a spell option if there's any I am overlooking. I tried using 4 Borderlands Waykeepers which did a decent job of helping but they don't combo well with the echoy spell spam theme I have going on and it slows down my Calderan dragon generation. My biggest problem is swarm agro decks, I don't have any great way to deal with a bunch of low HP units outside of lightning storm. The deck is super fun IMO, Unstable Form on a Trailblazer or Dragon seems to give me an awesome legendary quite often, and there are some crazy combos with getting Trailblazer to echo a good spell and then putting it back in your deck with Second Sight and drawing it again (plus if you get lucky and echo the Second Sight you basically have a permanent draw card and Calderan charger) From what I've read Cradle isn't that great but I'd still like to get try to make this deck more viable even if mostly just to farm gauntlet with it.
My first rare was a Calderan Cradle which I really like the idea behind and I noticed it combos well with Unstable Form which I am a huge fan of because it lets me get to play with all the units in the game sorta so fun and good for learnin sorta so I'm trying to build a deck around those. Just started a few days ago so I don't really know all the cards well and am probably missing some real obvious stuff here.
